To whom it may concern,
I am writing to express my strong interest in the Nanny position with SitterCity. For more than 8 years, I have worked as a Teachers assistant helping to enrich the lives of special needs students in New York City. As the Teachers assistant and coach at The Child School I am responsible for crisis prevention, and student support. My primary responsibility is to ensure all of the students and athletes under my care feel supported and a sense of navigation through obstacles they face daily. I assist the head teacher by distributing and receiving assignments, organizing student works, proctoring state exams, maintaining a neat and clean classroom environment, assisting students as struggles present themselves, and maintaining classroom order to provide the safest most streamlined learning environment possible for the student population.
When meeting one-on-one with students, I suggest ways they can make the most of the specialized school curriculum and activities, as well as the many resources available to them. Compounding my duties as teacher assistant and coach is the Digital Music elective course in which I developed and teach daily to high school students. The course has been very popular since its inception three years ago and has maintained a waiting list for admittance. While working at The Child School, my position afforded me the opportunity to apply my enthusiasm and passion for mentorship and the achievement of related personal and group goals.
As the coach of three sports at The Child School I first and foremost am responsible for the safety of my student athletes. I serve as a liaison between the school and parents, effectively coordinating and communicating appropriate arrangements for pick ups and dismissals from home and away games daily as well as practices, alerting parents who’s students are designated walkers leave any given event via phone and or email. Tangible duties include but are not limited to the following: care for equipment and training facilities, refreshments, sending notices and follow-up notices as may be requested by parents or the Athletic Director, team and one-on- one training, delegation of duties to assistant coaches, planning, relationship building, training and implementation of game plans, injury response and care.
