I’m a recent college graduate and relatively new to New York city, working as a paralegal and looking for part-time work babysitting/nannying. Before coming to NYC, I was a seasonal nanny for a family of two young girls for four years. Including meal prep, driving the kids around to school/camps/activities, and other general care-giving roles, I helped them manage distance-learning during lockdown and continued to tutor the girls and assist with school assignments. I have experience catering to learning disabilities and demonstrate patience, empathy, and empowerment when working with kids. In addition to my long-term work with this family, I have babysat for several other families as needed and spent a some time volunteering at a primary school and daycare in Cape Town. Throughout my childcare experiences, I’ve developed self-confidence in actions and decisions regarding others and learned to balance authority with affection, and I cultivated a personal leadership identity grounded in being a positive role model. I love working with kids of all ages and embracing all different personalities and interests. I enjoy engaging their activities, taking them on new adventures, being part of their learning experience, and reading with them. I am skilled at balancing fun with discipline, and will have no problem sticking to household rules/schedules/needs while maintaining a comfortable, caring, lively environment. My availability includes weekends and weekday evenings/nights with a flexible start time.
