Write a messageI’m 22, but I still remember the nannies and babysitters when I had growing up, and how they played an important role in my childhood. I think it’s important for children to have exposure to adults other than their parents at a young age; to feel heard and expressed by others. I like working with children because it’s fun, and I’m always learning. Working with children reminds me to never lose sight of my imagination and curiosity. It also requires me to adapt and develop effective communication styles that make the child feel heard and seen, while also ensuring that I’m respected. Maintaining a mutual level of respect between myself and the child is vital. As a babysitter, I’ll do anything you need; cook meals, help with homework, watch movies, create art and do crafts, take your child to/from school, etc; as long as my help does not get taken for granted. I love art, painting, drawing, making jewelry, cooking, going for runs, doing yoga, listening to music and reading books. I’ve collected around 3 years of experience working with all ages, but mostly children ranging between the ages of 4-6. I’m graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in Public Relations, however, I’ll be attending the Fashion Institute of Technology this upcoming fall to pursue an AAS in fashion design. I’m looking to work and do school at the same time. I’m moving to the city the first week of July. I’m no stranger to the city; I’ve spent a lot of time going back and forth for summer intensives and to visit friends. However, I am new to the museums, farmers markets and other experiences the city has to offer. I’m eager to take it all in! I’m well-versed in the dynamic city life, and I appreciate and thrive in diverse, fluid environments. In addition to my time spent in NYC, I’ve lived in Paris for about 6 months, where I learned the importance of remaining adaptive and aware of my surroundings. I’m seeking to work with a family where we mutually align with each other’s values. But overall, I hope for an opportunity to learn from one another, and I look forward to the experiences that come with that.
