Hi Im Callie! I am 22 years old and originally am from Massachusetts. I am also currently a student at Fordham University studying psychology.

When I was a child I had a babysitter named Carolyn, and she was the best babysitter I ever had. She always kept us entertained with games and fun activities instead of watching TV the whole time, she cooked for us, took us on outings to the park or to get ice cream, and helped with our homework. Even at a young age I could tell she truly cared about me and Im fact I am still in touch with her to this day! When I started my child care career, I sought to embody my childhood babysitter as I remember always feeling safe, comfortable, and happy with her and I wanted to also make kids feel that way. In high school I started babysitting for the two daughters of my neighbor and consistently babysat them for 2 years. I also applied to be a head camp counselor in the summer while I was still babysitting, after having so much fun babysitting my neighbors daughters! Thankfully, I got the position which I then held for 5 years as I found camp counseling to be extremely fulfilling 6 (from 2015-2019). Being a head camp counselor taught me how to look after many children at one time while keeping them safe and happy, how to keep them on a schedule and get them to places in a timely manner, how to comfort an upset child, and many more activity ideas! For example, I know many simple but fun arts and crafts projects.

After I went to college I did take a break from child care to focus more on my studies, but now I am ready to get back into it and am really looking forward to it!
