My name is Kathy and Im 65 years young! Ive been working with infants and toddlers in and out of the day care setting for about 10 years . I was usually in the infant care room at the daycare however there were always toddlers in my room in the afternoon. I actually have an associates degree in Hospice care but over the years started really missing being around young babies and children. I began working in private homes during the pandemic and I will never go back to a day care setting. In daycare I would be responsible for 4 infants by myself , which I could handle fine. However in the afternoon having toddlers and small children running around my small room I felt was very dangerous for the babies. Now that Ive been doing in home care I really am enjoying being able to concentrate on one baby/child. My last baby was 6 weeks old when I started with him and he has now at 3 years moved back to India. I love Babies and children and love watching every new thing they learn. My own son was a colicky baby so Im used to that and my last Mom was also experiencing postpartum which I had experience with. We have remained good friends and Ive been asked countless times to come visit them in India. Some day! I do believe that children are such a miracle to begin with but I guess my love for the little ones is from seeing so many changes in them so quickly .This is a very important time in a babys life and in the parents lives as well . That s not saying it is easy. But we have to remember that years ago parents usually had their family close by. I really believe parents, Especially New Moms need more help in our country
