I began babysitting for families around my neighborhood in Chicago when I was 12-years-old. I’ve cared for children as young as 3 months and as old as twelve. When I turned sixteen, I went on to work for an overnight youth summer camp in Three Rivers, Michigan called Camp Wakeshma. While there, I worked as a junior counselor, became a counselor, and eventually a Unit Leader. In my role as a counselor, I was responsible for the care of 10-15 children each week, with kids’ ages ranging from 8-15. As a Unit Leader, I managed the summer camp for 9 weeks back-to-back and ensured the safety of more than 140 campers and over 40 staff members. I’ve since gone to college at UIC, majored in English and Creative Writing and graduated with a Liberal Arts degree. Looking to jump back into caring for children! Thanks for the consideration.
