I love being a sitter because I get to make a positive difference in a child’s life. I enjoy creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable and happy. Watching them grow and learn and the joy they get out of activities is most rewarding.
I have experience working with children in the Children’s Aid Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). I interacted with a class of children, planned and supervised activities, and took them on field trips. I was responsible for their well-being and safety and helped them with their learning and personal development. Through this experience, I gained knowledge of how to handle a group of children in different settings and handle different situations.
I have very good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills that allow me to work well with children and other adults. I am flexible and patient, and I have an amazing sense of humor that helps me along with children. I also do well in designing fun and learning activities and handling behavior and challenging situations. I understand the importance of setting appropriate boundaries without jeopardizing a constructive and supportive climate.
