I have experience babysitting my nephews age 7 and 5, since they were born. I’m originally from CT, but just moved to NYC as a relocation opportunity for my boyfriend who is a management consultant for a top consulting firm. Due to the relocation, I am currently looking for a new job, and in the meantime, babysitting will give me something to do, that will be enjoyable for me.
In terms of ages, I am most comfortable with toddlers and elementary aged children. I dont mind pets as long as they are not large dogs. Other than that I am fine with animals.
I don’t have transporation, since I live in Manhattan but have no problem taking the subway or cabs to get to sitting opportunities.
My babysitting philosphy is to try to be active and creative. If I am babysitting for four hours, I try to dedicate one hour to active play, and one our to creative play (crafts, baking etc.). Of course, they can spend longer, but I try not to force them into it. I try to foster learning through everyday play.

Rate: $25/hour – $40/hour

Early evening: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Late afternoon: Sunday and Saturday.
