My name is Rocio Vivesborn and raised in New York City. From a very early age I was surrounded by
many strong female influencers. Women like my mother ,and aunts who are all stronger in their own
unique way . Her lessons inspired me to define my own femininity in my early adolescent years and
triggered an interested in feminist culture. Historic influencers like Gloria Steinem, Barbra Walters , and
Maya Angelou these women exemplify the importance individuality .
As I expanded by depth of knowledge in the feminist movement, I developed my own personal style
which also derived from my jobs in womens retail. I grew a sense of pride in my quick ability to style
women from all walks of lifefrom entry level employees to well-established executives. Insecuritys
such as body image , stretch marks and baby fat .I had one customer mother call her fat in front of me ,
she was sixteen and a size two . Her mother still considered fat , despite the fact she was a healthy size
for her age and height.
I later realized my mission as a womens retail associate is to empower my customers through the layers
of clothes they put. I grew to understand the power of fashion and how it can influence som
