As a woman with a sibling that is younger than me, I know a lot about taking caring children. Being an older sister is not taken lightly and I’ve learned that it is tough duty. My parents have always been busy so I have practically raised my little brother to the boy he is now. It was always us two against the world. For me, this is the experience I’ve had for my whole life. I also have 2 years of experience volunteering at the Go Project working with 1st and 2nd graders. I would take them to the bathroom, watch them play outside, and make sure they are doing the work they need to be doing. One of my main jobs was calming down the kids when they needed it. These were kids that were behind in school who needed extra help and sometimes they had problems trying to focus or even want to be in the room. I made sure the kids were happy and having a fun time while learning. Any kid is as important to me as my brother because who they are with makes them into the adult they become.
