My name is Margery Docking. I am twenty-six years old, and recently left my full-time position working in marketing and operations at a small accessories company after a little over two years of employment. I am interested in finding part-time babysitting positions as I apply to graduate schools in NYC, seeking my masters degree in Public Administration. I hope to maintain these part-time positions throughout my graduate program.
I moved to New York City from Kansas five years ago to finish my undergraduate degree in Political Science and English at New York University. Childcare has always come naturally, and been tremendously fulfilling and fun for me since I began babysitting as a preteen, approximately twelve years ago.
I had wonderful experiences babysitting for a few families throughout middle and high school in my hometown of Wichita, and also while attending University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. After moving to New York City I was connected to a few families while attending NYU, and have continued to babysit occasionally since graduation.
I have experience caring for infants, up to young teenagers. I currently babysit regularly for an eight-year-old boy here in NYC. I also care regularly for my two nieces, who are three years and eight months old, along with their two-year-old (VERY high energy) Rottweiler Lola. I love all animals!
I especially enjoy sharing outdoor activities, arts and crafts projects, reading, museums, foreign language and cultural activities (I am Spanish proficient), cooking/baking, and reading with the children I babysit.
I do not have any kids of my own yet, but I have always loved and found that caring for children comes very naturally to me. I am completely comfortable babysitting for children at both the younger and older ends of the age spectrum. I love finding and sharing new and creative activities, based on the individual interests and needs of each child!
