Hi! My name is Katie and I grew up in Stuyvesant Town. I recently moved back home after graduating from Wesleyan University where I studied Science and Technology Studies and Dance! I have babysat for many families in Stuy Town throughout high school and have also worked as an educator in a variety of environments.I am a dancer and love to teach dance! I have taught Creative Movement and Ballet for K-5 and for high school students. I have also worked as a summer camp counselor for high school students at a farm and wilderness camp in California, where students went on backpacking and hiking trips. I am really passionate about environmental education, especially for New York City kids, because I believe that even growing up in a city means you can love nature! I currently teach environmental science courses in the Rockaways 2x a week with high school students, where I take the students kayaking, hiking, and also perform marine science experiments!
I love working with all ages, taking kids outside, and making art together!
