Write a messageHi! I’m Erin. Other than being a NYC-based actor/singer/dancer, I’m also the eldest of 4 girls. Looking out for them was my first exposure to childcare as we moved from country to country on account of my father’s Army career. Before long, I was 15-years-old in Tbilisi, Georgia, starting my own at-home dance studio for kids in order to save money for a trip to New York. The delight I found in teaching carried over High School as I taught at the local recreation center in Lawrence, Kansas. Even when I wasn’t teaching dance in a structured class setting, the fun and expressive activities of dance class took form when I babysat for families in Boston, where I went to college. All this to bring us to today. One of the families I nanny for now occasionally, I met on the subway, when 3-year-old Cordelia was singing “Let it Go” at the top of her lungs. I usually pick her up from pre-school and her 9-year-old brother up from 4th grade. We experiment with paper planes in Central Park, practice spelling words and eat mac & cheese. My favorite is when we have dance parties, though. Those are the best.
