I have recently graduated West Chester University with a degree in Early Grades Education, for which I have been in the field working with children ages 5-10 for the last 4 years, including my recent full time student teaching. Recently, I have also acquired a certification (TESOL/TEFL) in teaching English to those learning it as a second language.

I am very passionate about helping children develop educationally in a safe, caring environment, as childhood is such an influential time. My educational philosophy revolves around the importance of supporting students in growing a healthy relationship with education. Making education an actively enjoyable experience for children both helps them learn the content, and instills an intrinsic motivation for learning in the future.

Over the past 8 years I have worked consistently as a camp counselor, camp director, care taker, tutor and teacher, enjoying it more each day. Through these experiences, and West Chester University’s extensive early grades education program, I have developed in creating and implementing lessons effectively for student learning across all subject areas.

I have been working in children’s education and care since I was nearly a child myself. The capacity to affect positive change in both children and the community is what really makes this line of work special to me.
