After taking care of my then two younger siblings for the better part of a year as, when I was between the ages of 6 and 7, my homeschooling mother was on bed rest during her fourth pregnancy, I’ve always worked with kids in some shape or form. During that pregnancy, I didn’t have much a choice – my dad was working 12+ hour workdays and we couldn’t get a consistent sitter/nanny. Since then, however, I’ve continued to work with children of all ages year in and year out.

More than simply babysitting my now four younger siblings or the children of neighbors and even strangers, I’ve also worked with children in multiple other jobs. I have taught both rocketry and chess camps, as well as coached track and field and basketball camps, at various elementary schools in Minnesota. I’ve been the percussion teacher for students of all ages, experience, and backgrounds. In addition, I also continue to train basketball players of differing ages.

Throughout all of this and more, I have encountered and had practice in dealing with all sorts of situations, from medical conditions to injuries and more. Further, I have become adept in relating with most every child I come in contact with, making discussions and corrections easier, while still acquiring from them the respect due to whatever authoritative position I have.

All of this experience has come in the midst of other endeavors, ranging from playing both college basketball and track, being fully enrolled in college while still a junior in high school at the age of 16, tutoring, internships, and more. And I will continue to seek out similar experiences in the years to come. For in taking care of my two younger siblings – making them food, acting as the homeschool teacher, helping them wash, etc. – during my mom’s fourth pregnancy, I discovered a love for working with children. Now I’m simply striving to continue doing what I love.

Early evening: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Late evening: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Overnight: Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
