I am a teacher assistant/ paraprofessional. I teach daily living skills, such as independent feeding, dressing, toileting. I work in a one-on-one or small group setting. I guide and assist students in small group instruction settings with class routines and in transitioning from one activity to the next, as well as I provide language assistance for bilingual students. A few years ago, I used to work at a daycare where I did the following: I provided child-care activities for infants and toddlers, developed and presented early education lessons in Math, Reading, and Visual Arts, taught children non-violent behavior and team-building projects, and created recreational activities for children ages 6 months to four years old. I love working with children because children help you see things from a whole different perspective, they are fun, I get to play with them, and I get the opportunity of being creative.
