My name is Jacqueline. I am 27 years old and have been babysitting off and on since I was about 12. Since graduating from college, I’ve lived in DC and in Boston, where I’ve worked in public policy and economic development, focusing my attention on children and education.
My fiance and I have just moved to New York for a year for his job, and I am hoping to shift my career away from public policy. I love kids would like to work with them more directly.
I have previously cared for anywhere between 1-3 children at a time and have watched kids aged infant to ten years old. I was also a collegiate basketball player and was a coach at an overnight basketball camp for middle and high school girls for two summers. Most recently I’ve been watching an energetic, teething infant boy some afternoons evenings for his parents.
I don’t believe in parking kids in front of the television while I’m watching them and I go out of my way to read with/to them, play games, and/or play outside if space and weather permits. I will also ask you a lot of questions about what is and isn’t permitted for your children to ensure that they are getting consistent messages. I have taken CPR training in the past, though my certification is out of date. I would consider getting recertified if it was important to you.
