I am a classically trained lyric baritone, experienced voice teacher, performer, and arts administrator. As a performer, I have sung operatic and musical theatre roles at regional opera companies around the United States. I have appeared as a featured soloist with orchestra in concert and performed solo art song recitals. I particularly love collaborating with composer colleagues to commission new vocal concert works.

I am a former President and Vice-President of the Indiana University student chapter of NATS and coordinated the New Voice Educators Symposium in 2016. I maintain a private studio, and my students have have been accepted to music degree programs at Indiana University, Bloomington; Roosevelt University-Chicago College of Performing Arts; University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Winston-Salem; DePauw University; Indiana State University; Indiana Wesleyan University. I have presented academic papers on “The Songs of Ernst Bacon,” “Technical Faults Related to Intonation,” and “Learning to Workshop Opera.”

I am currently completing his Doctor of Music degree at Indiana University, Bloomington – Jacobs School of Music, where I previously earned my Master of Music degree. I earned his Bachelor of Music (cum laude) from Ball State University. I have studied voice privately with renowned teachers Heidi Grant Murphy, Dr. Robert Harrison, Carol Vaness, and Dr. Craig Priebe and vocology and vocal pedagogy from Dr. Brian Gill, Dr. Brian Horne, and Dr. Meryl Mantione.
