Preschool in Wendell, MA 01379
The core emphasis of our curriculum is play. Educational research supports the importance of imaginative play in a childs development. Play is widely recognized to: cultivate problem-solving and critical thinking skills, promote language development and physical coordination, and develop conflict resolution skills and emotional maturity*. The American Academy of Pediatrics recently urged a return to free play, as it is connected to every aspect of a childs well being.
Our program provides for and encourages ample opportunity for free play, both inside and outdoors. WHCC teachers encourage play in all forms, from ditch digging to dress-up, painting to building rocket ships. Weekly themes are introduced to guide children to explore new ideas and subjects while at play.

We believe that through play children gain an understanding of the world and their place in it. Providing children with a safe, stimulating, multi-sensory environment encourages a strong foundation and creates pathways to self-discovery. It is through social interactions that children learn to be confident, gain the ability to make individual choices, and develop problem-solving skills while building and reinforcing their self-esteem.
