Thayer Christian Preschool

The preschool will attempt to operate on the same calendar as the Thayer School System, i.e. when the public school is dismissed, preschool will also be dismissed. The only exception to this will be late calendar changes by the school. Whenever CUSD 101 dismisses school because of inclement weather, preschool will be dismissed as well, and parents will be notified. A preschool calendar showing snack schedules, birthdays, school dismissals, etc. will be provided monthly.

ORGANIZATION: The preschool program operates on a non-profit basis and is sponsored by Thayer Christian Church.

PURPOSE: To provide a positive learning experience which is committed to the development and enhancement of the intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical growth of the student.

OBJECTIVES:

1. To provide quality care for the child, giving primary attention to education, enjoyment, and interaction.

2. To teach the child pre-kindergarten skills such as numbers, alphabet, colors, shapes, opposites, directions, rhymes, etc.

3. To give guidance to the students that will enable them to adjust to other children and to adults.

4. To teach the child values such as sharing, caring, helping, trusting, kindness, manners, honesty, friendship, family, cooperation, etc.

5. To share Bible stories and prayer with the child each day.

6. To provide a safe and relaxed atmosphere for the child.

Thayer Christian Preschool is a state-licensed preschool and adheres to all regulations set forth by the State Department of Health and Environment.
