Canterbury Academy at Shawnee Crossings

While we think that our building is fantastic, we know that it is our staff which makes our school the best around. From the director to the janitor, every person we employ is overqualified, exceptionally skilled, and dedicated to teaching children. As part of our regular staff we employ a full time registered nurse, who handles all illnesses, injuries and medication administration.

All of our preschool teachers are either bachelors degreed teachers or Montessori certified, and teachers in our grade school program are state certified as well as bachelors degreed. Toddler staff are specifically trained in the special needs of little ones, and are supervised by another career nurse and CDA qualified teacher.

Our director holds her degree in child psychology from Yale University, and attended medical school.

We also include extensive extra-curricular activities within our school, including dance, gymnastics, soccer, piano lessons, athletic programs, karate, art camp, music camp, and sports camps. Instructors in each of these programs are experts in their fields, including a college track coach, professional musician and music teacher of 20+ years, and even an authentic Irish soccer coach.

When we combine our fantastically qualified staff with on-site owners and highly skilled management, the result is an efficiently run school, which can focus on the task of actually teaching children unlike other get through the day-care centers.
