Santa Monica - Malibu USD Edison Head Start State Preschool

Edison has a unique dual immersion program where our children learn to understand, speak, read and write in both English and Spanish. While we teach in two languages, we follow the same state curriculum frameworks and grade level content standards as all public elementary schools in California.

Being a school of choice for all students also gives our school a distinct character and a very high rate of participation. All of our families have made a conscious decision to help their children develop as bilingual, multicultural learners and parent support is critical to promoting student success.

The Santa Monica Malibu School District (SMMUSD) continues to support Edison graduates in the full development of their language skills by offering an immersion track at John Adams Middle School and Santa Monica High school.
