YMCA Child Development Center

YMCA Early Learning programs strengthen families and boost youth development by offering infants, toddlers, young children, and families early learning readiness experiences and comprehensive child development programs.

Early learning programming at the YMCA lays a foundation for future and ongoing achievement and success. Children build friendships and take advantage of opportunities to play with and learn from each other. Together, they practice social skills and build social relationships through play. Children learn conflict resolution through identifying feelings, describing problems, and trying out alternative solutions.

At the Family YMCA of Marion and Polk Counties we believe in nurturing the potential of every child. Individual relationships are developed with children through care and interactions which are responsive, supportive, and attentive. Staff speak in a friendly, positive, and courteous manner, and listen to children with attention and respect as they function as a secure base for children. They respond promptly in developmentally appropriate ways that meet children where they are at.
