Choice Care Playschool where we play to learn and learn to play together. Our playschool is a licensed program and open to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We also provide after school care for those children who attended preschool here or have younger siblings here.

We are a small 4 star center that focuses on independence, hands on activities and social interaction in small group settings. All children have the opportunity to attend field trips within walking distance. In addition, our preschoolers aged 3 to 5 get the opportunity to go on other field trips.

Our goal is to become a 5 star center by the summer of 2012. Once we accomplish this, we will be the only privately owned 5 star center in Rutherford County.

We believe the main purpose of education is to provide a wide range of experiences that teach the whole child while maintaining small classrooms with a family oriented style.

We feel that children learn best when they have a combination of self directed and teacher directed activities throughout each day. Children should be allowed to learn in a self directed manner using what interests them most. Learning more challenging tasks or foreign activities should be demonstrated by the teacher. We believe small groups are ideal in both situations. Teachers lead guided activities with a small group while other small groups rotate independently at different centers within the classroom then ultimately rotate to the teacher guided activity.

The curriculum is based on Creative Curriculum and will include a lot of music, free expressive art, reading and storytelling, opportunities for both group and independent problem solving, hands on science and technology, plenty of exercise and outdoor play and opportunities to attend field trips.
