In 1971 the Parish decided to establish a new ministry that would aid working parents and children, Kindergarten and a Day Care Center. The first director of the Day Care Center was Sr. Mary Mercy an Ursuline Sister. The Day Care was located in the west wing of the school building. In 1989, the Kindergarten Program was taken over by the Owensboro Catholic Consolidated School System.
