Kids Can at Lasalle County Easter Seal Center

Kids Can’s mission is to provide a loving environment for all children that are conducive to good development, exploration, imagination and cooperation. Kids Can Daycare’s main objectives are to meet the childcare needs of families with disabled children, and to include those children in a program with non-disabled children. The premise for this type of program is the belief that all children have the right to be with their peers and develop friendships despite any challenges.

Kids Can Daycare and Preschool is developed and implemented with the philosophy that children learn best when provided with an environment and experiences that are positive, nurturing and developmentally appropriate. Children are naturally curious and enjoy learning.

Our curriculum encourages children to explore, experiment and inquire. Learning to think, reason and problem solve through play activities is fun. Learning should be fun. Play is the most significate avenue for learning. Using play as learning medium the curriculum fosters growth and development socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically.

Our staff is trained to observe and plan activities that encourage the development of each child according to his/her own abilities.

Each day is a new adventure. Children need time and encouragement to play, create and learn to relate to other children and adults. We provide children the opportunity to share special experiences. Learning stations, arranged visits with resource people, and special units offer activities which help children feel happy, eager and excited to be in a positive learning environment.

Kids Can strives to meet the accreditation guidelines set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
