Welcome to the Shanahan Learning Center website. Thanks for stopping by to see what our program is all about. We are a preschool and a full day childcare center licensed by the Department of Early Education & Care (EEC) to accommodate children between the ages of 2.9 and 12 years old. We are committed to providing a stimulating and safe environment while fostering creativity and self-esteem. Our building space of approximately 2000 square feet has such character with over forty years of kindergarten and preschool history. Our philosophy is simple. We are all about kids. We believe that teaching to the “whole child” is most beneficial to each child’s individual needs. While understanding that learning is a lifetime process, we also strongly believe that the most important learning in a child’s life occurs before the age of five. Although “a child’s work is play”, not all play is unstructured. Carefully planned activities are incorporated throughout our daily schedule (see Curriculum page for “Daily Schedule of Activities”) emphasizing academic and developmental growth. Our overall goal is to help children reach their fullest potential by offering the “stepping stones” for a successful future. All this is happening while we’re having FUN!
