Zion Preschool

Zion Preschool was started in 1988 by Vivian Niemann as an outreach to Zion families and those in the community looking for a Christian preschool. She was supported by the Preschool Committee some of whome were Nadeen Wegele, Cathi Michel, Bill and Annetta Gehring. Vivian was the first director and teacher and was succeeded by Georgetta Grimmett, Jennifer Kelsey, Jennifer Wilson, Kathy Weins, Kendra Hancock and the current director and teacher, Julie Pagenkopf. As one of the few preschools in the Newton area offering financial assistance, it has been able to expose many children to the love of Jesus. The preschool originally started with less than ten students and has been able to maintain this small class size. Children age 3,4, and 5 meet twice a week with an additional Friday morning class offered for students about ready to enter Kindergarten. Today we can serve 30 students enrolled in one of three classes.
