The Montessori Method
This is a program that is geared to the individual child. It takes into account the different interests abilities and developmental levels of each child.
The class environment is conducive to the development of the childs whole personality his body his character and his intellect. The activities present challenges without frustrations giving each child opportunities for success and greater self esteem.
In addition most instruction is done individually. Children are free to move around the classroom to further their socialization skills and learning. Participation in group activities is voluntary and children work with age groups from 2-1/2 to 6 years allowing more advanced children to help teach the young ones and reinforce their own skills. Children are also taught to solve disagreements and problems that may arise between themselves in acceptable ways and to verbally express their needs and desires.
The curriculum includes activities for the development of concentration mind-body coordination independence sensory perception language mathematics science and art history and geography.
