Hello, my name is Melissa Johnson and I would like to welcome you to our school in Leland, NC. I have a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and over 10 years experience. I have had the pleasure to spend over 6 years working with Childcare Network.

At our school, our main focus is to ensure that we are providing early literacy skills to all of our children. Our curriculum and daily activities ensure that we are meeting the educational and developmental goals of each child. Our focused literacy skills include language development, print awareness, writing skills, and fostering a love of reading and learning during the most critical period of brain development. Research shows that children arriving to Kindergarten with developed early literacy skills are more likely to become successful students. We also strive to work closely with our parents through various means of communication such as newsletters, e-mail, and our parent advisory board.
