Greater Lawrence Community Action Council Child Care

Since 1971 the Child Care Center has been providing quality care for children through a positive, nurturing environment that supports children in reaching their full potential. Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) the program offers full-time/full-year comprehensive and educational services for Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten and School-Age children.

All programs are located at 581 Andover Street in Lawrence are fully funded and licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and designed to meet the needs of community families.

A full academic curriculum and comprehensive assessments systems for measuring growth and progress for all age groups is provided by highly qualified and degreed Educators and Administrators. Comprehensive services on site are provided by collaborating partners and consultants ensuring that individual child needs are met.
Age and program specific literacy programs support strong school to home collaborations. Monthly educational fieldtrips are planned to enhance curriculum experiences for children throughout the program.

The Center is proud recipients of the Universal Pre-Kindergarten Grant (UPK) and has implemented additional supports and services for Preschool children and their families enrolled through the use of these funds. Additionally, two USDA nutritionally balanced meals are prepared on-site daily along with credible snacks. Two-way, door to door transportation is provided to Lawrence addresses along with transportation each day from Lawrence Public Schools to the center for the school-age children enrolled in the program.

To qualify for services; parents may pay privately, be working or attending school for 30 hours or more per week and meet state guidelines to qualify for subsidies or through direct referrals through the Department of Children and Families (DCF).

The Center is licensed for 253 children and offers many family events throughout the year to give families an opportunity to be educationally involved and to connect with other families.
