At Rainbow Academy, we offer a well balanced, traditional
preschool program in an academic environment, along with the free
play that is equally important for their development.
Our curriculum is carefully planned incorporating ideas from a wide
variety of early childhood philosophies, manuals, and resources. It is
developmentally appropriate for young children, integrating their
needs, interests, and abilities while focusing on the whole child.
Programs
At Rainbow Academy, we offer a well balanced, traditional
preschool program in an academic environment, along with the free
play that is equally important for their development.
Our curriculum is carefully planned incorporating ideas from a wide
variety of early childhood philosophies, manuals, and resources. It is
developmentally appropriate for young children, integrating their
needs, interests, and abilities while focusing on the whole child.
We provide an ideal environment, with developmentally appropriate
equipment and activities, that enhance each child’s cognitive, social,
emotional, and physical development. Academic subjects include
language, emergent reading skills, math, science, social studies, art,
music, p.e. & show and tell. Our curriculum provides children an
opportunity to learn, to develop an active curiosity about the world
around them, and to encourage an enthusiasm for learning.
Recognizing the importance of fine arts and sports alike, we have
incorporated Dance & Gymnastics into our Curriculum. Dance
consists of ballet, tap and jazz. Gymnastics includes floor work,
balance beam & the mini tramp. Classes are held weekly on a
rotating basis. We also understand the importance of yoga & the
benefits it provides the body, mind & spirit; therefore we have made
it an integral part of our curriculum teaching children to stretch, relax,
focus, be aware of their bodies, etc.
Sign Language – We are very fortunate to have on staff qualified
teachers who are educated in sign language & share their
knowledge with the children. Children learn basic signs of
communication,colors, shapes, alphabet, etc. Even our youngest
toddlers learn to sign!
