Our mission is to enable children to become lifelong learners in a safe enviornment. We provide a top-quality, developmentally appropriate program for each child-ages six weeks through third grade- who enters My Village CDC. All children are eligible for MVCDC admission if they can arrange for tuition fees (set by DHS). More than 85% of children at My Village come from poverty or very low salaried families.
For more than 40 years, research has shown that early childhood programs enhance a child’s developmentespecially for children at risk of not obtaining their potential life skills. At My Village, each child’s levels of abilities physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally, kinesthetically are observed and recorded throughout the year with curricula prepared from those evaluations/assessments.

My Village CDC encompasses the basic premise that children learn through play. Children at play are actively involved in creating themes, exploring and establishing environments, solving problems, and developing shared understanding.
In our program, the teachers ask the children stimulating questions throughout the course of each day. You might hear one of our staff say to a child, Which cup holds more, What else can you build using the blocks, Tell me about the picture you have painted, What do you think would happen if…
All six MVCDC classrooms provide age appropriate activities and centers that are child-centered and discovery based for learning’s that are cognitive (literacy, phonics, language, reasoning, problem-solving, mathematics, science), social-emotional (music, arts, sharing, helping & caring for others), and physical/kinesthetic skills (from so-called potty training to gross/fine perceptual-motor skills in playground games). Each child’s growth and development is evaluated at least three times annually by standard age-based observations to determine whether or not each child’s skills are progressing throughout the year.
