First Baptist Church Punkin Patch

Preschool in Kansas City, MO 64114

At Punkin Patch Childhood Development Center, we stress the importance of eye-to-eye contact with children, use rational discussions, and are sure to interact with and respond to children’s needs throughout the day. Our teachers are trained to understand developmentally appropriate activities and observe each child to ensure they are able to participate in learning at their own pace. We emphasize experimentation and discovery learning through play rather than through group direction and instruction. We create an environment that encourages individual children to explore their world through interaction with others, both children and adults. All learning experiences are planned to allow each child to develop their own unique learning personality without stifling their development.
It is essential that we work together with parents to make sure the early years of a child’s life are enhanced by warm, responsive, caring adults who understand the impact of development on a child’s learning experience. At Punkin Patch, we feel that every child in our care is an extension of our family and do our best to help each grown into a confident, happy and secure human being.

We have recently introduced a new learning program at the Punkin Patch. The Carpenter’s Kids is a Bible-based curriculum for kids ages 2 through 5. This curriculum covers all of the basic academic areas your child will need for school such as shapes, colors, letters and numbers along with beginning Spanish and sign language. Each week’s lesson incorporates a theme and also covers a Bible story and scripture.

The program encourages children to use their creativity and imagination. By incorporating games, stories, music, activity centers, crafts, games and movement, each child learns according to his or her own needs and interests. They can develop at their own pace and will learn academic and moral lessons in a fun, non-intimidating way.
