Montessori Pathways

Montessori Pathways located in Hoschton, Ga. was founded in 2000 by Deborah and Robert Townsend. It is a private school offering a primary class for children between the ages of 2 1/2 to 6. The Montessori program is designed for a 3 year curriculum to fully benefit the child.

Following the Montessori philosophy, children learn at their own pace, and concentration and coordination are developed through the use of the unique Montessori materials. The mixture of ages in the classroom creates a cooperative atmosphere. Montessori Pathways offers a small class size, limited to 19 children, extended day, a 10 month program, and quiet peaceful surroundings, an ideal atmosphere for learning. The child progresses through careful observation and individual lessons. Group lessons promote conversation and shared experiences.

Deborah, an AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) certified Montessori teacher for 14 years decided to put her dedication into her own school. Deborah enjoys the enthusiasm children exhibit with learning. She finds the respect the students have for themselves and others a valuable asset. Her husband, Robert, referred to by the children as “Mr. Bob” enjoys taking care of the grounds, the playground, and helping with the vegetable garden.

The focus of Montessori Pathways is not only on academics but on developing the whole child. It is truly a place where friends are made.
