Sandcastle Preschool is a non-profit preschool and was
established in 1985. I am the original director, and a
teacher as well. I have two degrees; elementary
education and special education. My graduate studies
have focused on early childhood education. I am very
fortunate to have an incredibly wonderful staff including
several that have been a part of our team for a number
of years.

Our teachers have degrees in either elementary
education or early childhood education. We are all
trained in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid and participate
in continued Early Childhood training throughout the year.

A common question that comes up from parents is,
“What type of preschool is Sandcastle?”. Our main
focus at Sandcastle is the social aspect of a child’s
development. We feel it is important to establish good
social skills; sharing, getting along with others, following
a routine and directions, developing an attention span for
an age appropriate activity for a period of time, using
manners, and more. With that said, we do lots and lots
of activities that work at learning the basics – recognizing
names, colors, shapes, numbers, the alphabet, to name
a few. As they progress to the older classes, we add
more structure to the routine as well as activities geared
toward kindergarten readiness. We all feel strongly that
preschool should be a SAFE, FUN and LOVING place to
come to, and we work hard to provide the very best for
your child!!
