Westside Community Preschool

We are a licensed preschool that provides a safe, nurturing environment that will enrich each childs cognitive and social development. Our staff of caring, experienced teachers have a strong commitment to young children and are qualified to teach according to the Colorado Rules and Regulations and Colorado Department of Education licensure.
Westside Community Preschool offers small class sizes, where learning is developmentally appropriate, hands-on and fun by creating carefully planned learning centers. We use the Creative Curriculum to guide our daily activities which include: group time, story time and literacy activities, snack, arts & crafts, singing and movement activities and outside play if weather permits. During cold weather the children have access to the Westside Community Center gym to work on large muscle development through cooperative games, ball skills, and dance.
Cognitive and pre-academic skills that are integrated in each class include early concepts: colors, shapes, number skills, letter recognition, reading readiness, phonics, handwriting, cutting, and problem solving. Time for imaginative and cooperative play is also integral to our program.
Social skills that are integrated in each class include: sharing, listening, practicing manners, taking turns, using thinking skills to solve conflicts, expressing needs and wants, and promoting positive relationships. Social skills are taught through participation in The Incredible Years Dinosaur School, a program provided 2 times a week by Aspen Pointe Behavioral Health.
