John P. Parker School is committed to the growth and development of all students regardless of learning style race ethnicity or creed. We are in the business of cultivating high expectations for staff students parents and our community at large. Although our school draws its population primarily from Madisonville we also include Kennedy Heights and Oakley within our attendance area.
Our school is named for John P. Parker who was a conductor on the Underground Railroad. This African-American gentleman was a lover of books. Consequently our slogan is a school “where good students read good books” in the spirit of John P. Parker’s legacy. Our Mission
Our passion is to facilitate student learning by building a sense of community that encourages our children to believe and achieve their goals. John P. Parker School is becoming a school where you will find…* Seventy-five percent or more of our teachers have a Masters degree or are National Board Certified and 100% of support staff has met district criteria as highly qualified. * Parents teachers students and community are all equal partners in educating the child. * A positive behavior environment that has decreased overall office referrals by 80%. * A community of people with a shared vision. * Students who are prepared to continue learning based on state standards and high expectations.
