We at South Rowan Academy believe that to be entrusted by parents with the care and education of their young children is a great honor and an awesome responsibility. We accept that honor and responsibility with our commitment that we will always strive to give each and every child entrusted to us the same kind of love, care, respect, attention, nurturing, and discipline that we would want for our own children in any preschool setting.
We believe that children ages 2, 3 and 4 are developing a foundation of skills, values, attitudes, and character that will largely determine the kind of adults they will eventually become. We believe the learning and nurturing environment that we provide for our children at South Rowan Academy should, therefore, always have their long-range interests in mind. We believe that we should form a strong and cooperative partnership with parents so that we can, together, always work for the best interests of each child. We believe strongly that children ages 2-4 have a natural curiosity, desire, and ability to learn, and that they can probably learn as much or more in these years than at any comparable period in their lives. We believe that we should fill their lives at South Rowan Academy with learning, but in a way that will make it fun and enjoyable. Our emphasis will be on learning by doing and learning by discovery. We are well aware that the quality of our program depends on the quality of our teachers and administrators, so we put great emphasis on selecting teachers who share our view that each child should be given the same kind of love, care, and attention that they would want for their own children. We believe in an open door and open mind policy at South Rowan Academy. We want our parents to always feel welcome to visit our center. We welcome parent participation in our planning, activities, and field trips. We also welcome parent ideas, suggestions, questions, and concerns so that our partnership will always work to the best advantage of each child. At South Rowan Academy, we look at each child as a one-of-a-kind little miracle who is special because he or she is like no other. We want to be an extended arm for parents. We will strive to guide each of our little miracles through positive experiences, motivating them through encouragement and praise, and creating self-esteem through love and support. We believe in giving each child the gift of time by allowing him or her to develop and grow according to their own time line, not ours. By keeping all lines of communication open with the parents of our little miracles, we believe that, together, we can help each of them create skills that will help guide them in a positive direction for a lifetime.
