Sunshine House is a small, home-like, expanded-Montessori preschool for up to 29 children. We are located west of the University of Colorado in the Flatirons Elementary School District.
The classroom is divided into Learning Centers from which the children are free to choose a wide variety of activities. These include art, math, sewing, puzzles, writing, reading, science, music, geography, sensorial and manipulative areas. The staff encourages creativity with the materials in both individual and small group work.

Our staff feels strongly that a balance of social along with physical and mental development of the young child is important. We included a large amount of inside-outside time in our program so that each child can choose to meet his or her unique needs and special interests.
A large Group-time is held each morning with songs, music, movement games, stories, dramatics and discussions. Sign language and Science activities are also offered. New materials are often demonstrated at this time. Large Group helps to prepare children for future schooling as well as being fun. In addition to our Montessori classroom, the children have the opportunity to engage in rich, imaginative play in our playroom.
It is our hope that through high quality education and the support of concerned, loving parents and teachers, our children will grow into happy, productive adults with enthusiasm for life and learning as well as respect for themselves, others and the environment.
