Each year at our school we start out with an umbrella theme. Monthly units are designed and implemented. Daily boards are displayed and weekly e-mails are sent detailing our daily activities. These postings include the letter of the day, project, gross motor activity, book and songs. Using the Massachusetts State Frameworks as our guide we accomplish the following goals: Language Arts, Art, History and Social Science, Math, Science and Music.

The Learning Garden Preschool’s Objectives

  • To instill a sense of security through a consistent yet flexible schedule and set of rules
  • To help students discover their own answers
  • To empower children with self control by acknowledging their emotions and teaching them relaxation and stress reduction through play
  • To model physical fitness and good nutrition

I believe that my preschool is like a garden for learning. The children are the seeds, the teachers are the water, and the parents are the sunshine. My hope is that children will “sprout” a love for learning that will continue throughout their school years. I feel that self-knowledge is the most important nutrient for growth. Each child has his or her own unique learning style. My wish is that, by encouraging creativity and exploration, every child willl discover their own talents. I am here to assist them in every way possible.
