Greetings and Salutations,

I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. I am so excited to be a part of the Childcare Network family!

I am looking forward to a very productive and exciting year at #44.

My name is Amy Richards and I have a Bachelors degree in Childhood Development (Birth through Kindergarten) with a focus on Special Needs from Western Carolina University. I come to you from Southwestern Child Development School where I worked with children of all ages.

I consider the South to be my home. I love the sense of community, the weather, and the wide variety of outdoor activities (camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, swimming in the ocean) around every corner.

I have three daughters of my own (9, 6, and 4 years old). My oldest daughter Leslie attended preschool until she was three. Once I had my second child, I became a stay-at-home mom. Nonetheless, I remained very active in the lives of lots of little ones through my volunteer work with Girl Scouts, foster care and other community programs.

As a director at Childcare Network #44, it will be my mission to make sure that the time your child spends with us is safe. When I was in the 6th grade I had a friend sit at our lunchroom table. Shortly after, he spilled his milk. Several of my classmates began to make fun of him, but I decided instead to stand up for him. From that moment on, I knew I’d spend the rest of my life protecting others in any way I was able.

I want parents to know that one of my primary goals for the children at Childcare Network #44 will be to foster an environment where each child can challenge themselves and achieve. I want them to learn that it’s safe to try anything, that it’s ok if they fail, and that there is always an opportunity to try again.

I look forward to spreading joy every day at #44. Whether it be happy students or happy staff, I look forward to seeing a slew of smiles walk through the front door each and every morning; hearts filled with the desire to be here, to be successful, and to have pride in what they are accomplishing.

Testimonials

My son has been going to school here since he was 6-months-old and I like it - environment, educators, the facility. One day I asked my mom to pick him up when he was 18 months and when I went to get him from her house she said, "I am impressed! I never seen that many 1-year-olds that well behaved! All seated quietly having snack!" I responded, "You should see them walk single-file to their destinations!" A facility that doesn't babysit, they teach! Two thumbs up! I'd recommend them to anybody!!!

Mr. Theo is an awesome director and MUST stay! The teachers were good before he came, but afterward they got even better! I brag about this daycare all the time, they are wonderful people!

Teachers & Staff genuinely care about every child! Kind, caring, loving, firm, creative, fun, proactive, disciplined are just a few words I'd use for CCN #44.

They get to know the family, in order to better help your child.

They are loving & caring. I have watched my child blossom under their care. They work very hard to get all the parents involved in every aspect. They have a very open line of communication from the director to the teachers. They make each child feel important!
