A relaxed, safe, and joyful setting promotes learning. Cradle to Crayons provides an atmosphere that nurtures each child’s self and family. The center is small and strives to create a home-like atmosphere where children feel secure and are valued as individuals.

Teacher-to-child ratios are better in every classroom than Washington requirements. Classrooms are learning centers where children from six weeks to six years choose from diverse learning activities in an environment rich with meaningful play and developmentally stimulating activities.

Parent participation is encouraged and appreciated. Parents can volunteer in the classroom and on field trips, or just come in and join their child for a meal or a story. The staff at Cradle to Crayons knows that parent-teacher communication is essential, and they look forward to learning about your child from you.

Cradle to Crayons Child Care Center was founded in 1991 by a group of parents who shared a vision of quality, affordable child care.

As a small center, we work to create a home-like atmosphere where children can have their needs met and develop at their own pace. We believe children learn best in a relaxed and joyful setting, rich with meaningful play experiences.

Our teachers are positive and supportive, respecting the individual needs of each child.

Central to our philosophy is a strong appreciation of diversity. We believe that it is essential for children to develop positive gender, racial, cultural, and individual identities, and our curriculum supports these beliefs. Before deciding on enrollment, we ask that you and your child visit to see how well our program fits the needs of your family.

Children of all races, ethnicities, religions, and abilities are welcome.
