Cheekwood Child Development Center is a privately owned childcare center with a diverse child population enrolling boys and girls ages 6 weeks through 5 years old. We are licensed through the Department of Human Services in Davidson County and are under the rules set forth by that organization. In addition, we are participants in the TN Star Quality system.
Cheekwood Child Development Center’s mission is to provide a loving and safe environment for all ages. A place where the children feel at home and are able to explore and develop at their individual pace. We promote educational excellence, personal responsibility, balance growth, to help children discover and develop their talents and gifts. Self-confidence and a sense of true self worth are the goals of our school, both academically and socially.

At Cheekwood Child Development Center, we allow children to have hands-on learning experiences. This fosters age appropriate development. We read to the children everyday. We believe that positive reinforcement is important for children to develop self-esteem. Children need an environment that supports free expression and stimulates learning. Most importantly, however, we believe that children need to have fun! Children learn best from experiencing the world around them.
