Center in Columbus, OH 43212

Montessori Children’s House (MCH) founded in 1977 is celebrating more than 30 years of providing Montessori education to preschool and kindergarten children in the Columbus area. For 27 years MCH was located just north of Upper Arlington. In 2006 MCH purchased its own facility in Columbus near Upper Arlington and Grandview and is now located at 950 King Avenue. Montessori Children’s House is proud to be a full-member school of the American Montessori Society.Montessori education is based on the scientific observations of Dr. Maria Montessori the first female physician in Italy. Through her lifelong work with children Dr. Montessori developed a unique method of education which recognizes the individual talents and interests of each child while providing them with a peaceful child-centered classroom in which to explore. This experience helps the children become self-motivated independent learners.

Today most educators and psychologists agree that the single most important period in the development of a person’s intelligence is between birth and age five. A child’s mind is extremely absorbent and curiosity is at a peak during these early preschool years.
