Creekside Kids is an independently owned and operated childcare center located in the Canon School. Modeled after the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our curriculum emphasizes scientific inquiry, exploration and discovery along with phonological awareness and early literacy skills. Care is available on a flexible basis with care options from drop-in hourly (space available) to full time care. Parents may select from a menu of care levels based upon the needs of their family.

We believe in flexible, child-directed learning in an atmosphere of exploratory fun. Our early-childhood education is Reggio Emilia influenced. Reggio Emilia is a philosophy that combines the best features of Play-Based and Montessori methods. Since many of the children are already attending a preschool program, we focus on learning through long-term exploratory projects and the care of the “whole” child. Physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs are all equally important in the life of a young child and contribute to the growth of the child as a life-long learner.
