Sprouts Home Day Care was born out of the goal to create a day care that matched our values. After working in other day care centers around the area, we both realized that a day care could not only serve to help children grow, but could do so while valuing sustainability. Traditional day care, with its use of chemical cleaning agents, processed food, and large student to teacher ratio’s, did not seem like the best place for a child to flourish, and with that in mind, we created Sprouts Home Day Care.

At Sprouts Home Day Care, we believe that children learn best through play and exploration. Whether it is investigating the vegetable gardens outside, playing a fun game indoors, or spending time exploring books all on their own, we will help to facilitate activities that the children enjoy. We will always help children to explore their special interests, from outer space to the soil beneath their feet. Special seasonal activities will also be a regular part of time spent at Sprouts, including days to play in the sprinkler in the summer and plenty of fun in the snow in the winter.

At Sprouts, we believe in positive reinforcement and redirection when children are testing the limits and learning the rules. We believe in providing a structured environment that is flexible enough to respect the child and their individuality while at the same time providing routine that children need to learn and flourish. And above all else, we believe that the most important thing is to treat children with love and respect and we feel honored to be able to be part of their lives.
