Vannguard Urban Improvement Assn. (VUIA) is a non-profit community corporation located in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. VUIA was conceptualized in 1971 under the leadership of then Assemblyman Al Vann and a group concerned members of the Bedford-Stuyvesant community. Since its incorporation in 1975 VUIA has provided meaningful Youth Physical and Economic Development Programs to the Bedford-Stuyvesant community. VUIA’s Board of Directors which is composed of a broad section of the community joins with a dedicated staff to mobilize the skills and talents of local residents. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
