At Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, we strive to make the church a place of fellowship, learning and growth for children of all ages. For our youngest children (birth through five years old), we offer a caring staff consisting of four paid workers who are dedicated to the care of our children. They, along with volunteers help to create a welcoming and loving environment for your child. Our Toddler and Preschool children enjoy a lesson during Education Hour each week and are led through play, songs, crafts, scripture storytelling, and games to hear how special they each are in the eyes of God. Childcare is available for these ages from 8:30-12pm each week. Pagers are provided to each family so that you may be reached immediately if any needs arise.
Our Elementary School age children have many wonderful things waiting for them at Grace Covenant. During Education Hour they attend classes in The Promise Zone. This time is opened up with group singing and fellowship led by our churchs Music Minister, Barry Oliver. The children then are allowed to have a time with other kids their age to explore their faith through Bible study, worship, discussion, storytelling, role play, games, crafts and more! During Worship, we encourage all children to participate in our services. To help make this a more accessible time, we have worship bags for them to use with age appropriate activities, illustrated childrens Bibles on each pew, and books for worship available for their use on the bookshelf outside the sanctuary.
We also have several special events for our children throughout the year that continue beyond our Sunday activities. These include: Lords Supper Workshop, Crop Walk, Trunk or Treat, Little Voices, Family Advent Event, Family Outings, Easter Celebration, Family Christmas Eve Worship, Play & Picnic Events, Marketplace (VBS), and Camp Grier.
At Grace Covenant Church we embrace children and youth as a core part of our church family. We strive to involve them in Worship weekly in meaningful ways, to provide an Education Hour tailored to their individual ages, and have Children and Youth Programs apart from Sunday mornings that continue to deepen their spiritual and community relationships. In reference to our high esteem for the children and youth in our congregation, GCPC abides by and trains all persons working with these ages in our Child Protection Policy.
