Hello, my name is Vanessa Gonzalez. My primary job is as a freelance graphic designer with a particular interest in illustrations for childrens books. I greatly enjoy creative output of all sorts and love to share this with children and encourage them to also be creatively minded.

I have extensive experience working with both children and intellectually disabled people. As a young woman in Venezuela, I was professionally responsible for taking care of various children in the apartment building I lived in, I was also the long-time carer of a young man with Down syndrome. I have always enjoyed being in a position to help the people that need help, and find that working with children of any kind is very fulfilling for me and provides a high level of both personal and job-satisfaction. I began work at a Spanish immersion school here in Boston, where I was lucky enough to be a part of planning and implementing both curricular and non-curricular activities for the students. While I was at this school I received my certificate in First Aid and also in CPR, both of which I also received in Venezuela years ago, but was not able to transfer.

I am eager to get involved in a career working with children again and I am very motivated to build some valuable and lasting relationships with new families; I am very open-minded and will work with any children of people that could benefit from my help and I hope to be able to get back to making a difference soon!
